Winter Flowers: What Blooms at My Foraged Life?
When people think of winter, they often imagine the flower garden asleep. While it's true that many of my favourite annuals are quietly resting beneath the soil, winter has a beauty all of its own.
At My Foraged Life, each season brings something different to gather and create with. Winter is when the sculptural beauty of Australian natives really begins to shine. Proteas, banksias, leucadendrons, eucalyptus and textured foliage all come together to create bouquets full of warmth, character and lasting beauty. Their rich tones and unique forms feel perfectly at home during the cooler months, bringing a little piece of nature indoors.
Many of these blooms are just as beautiful once naturally dried, making them ideal for everlasting arrangements that can be enjoyed long after the season has passed. It's one of the things I love most about working with flowersβevery stem has a story that continues well beyond its time in the garden.
While my flower patch rests and prepares for the abundance of spring, I'm still creating thoughtfully gathered bouquets using seasonal natives, foraged textures and carefully dried botanicals. Winter might be quieter in the garden, but it's certainly not without beauty.
If you're looking for flowers during the cooler monthsβwhether for your home, a thoughtful gift or a special occasionβwinter natives offer something truly unique. Wild, textural and wonderfully Australian, they're a gentle reminder that every season has its own kind of bloom.
