Welcome to our humble, flower-filled corner of the world! I’m Caitlin, a floral artist and passionate flower grower based in West Gippsland.
I spend my days crafting with everlasting flowers — growing, gathering, and foraging amidst the natural beauty that surrounds me.
My name is Caitlin, and I’m the floral artist behind My Foraged Life, a practice that grew gently, almost without me realising, during the early years of motherhood. Before flowers, I was a full-time primary school teacher, a role I still hold part-time. But when our children were small, something shifted. I craved slowness—something I could shape with my hands and heart, a rhythm I could return to. It was a way I could be present with them, sharing their days and the small moments that matter most.
Here on our little farm in West Gippsland, on the hill we call Illalangi, I found that rhythm in the garden. Together with my husband Rich, our two children, and our sleepy Border Collie Oakey, we spend most of our days outdoors, letting nature guide the pace. It’s here that I grow, gather, and dry all the blooms I use without chemicals, dyes, or anything that takes away from their natural charm.
Most days, you will find me in the Flower Studio, surrounded by bunches of hanging everlastings, vintage treasures, and the faint scent of lavender and strawflower. It’s not grand, but it’s full of life, with family always nearby, music playing, feet tapping along to the beat, and petals, stems, and a beautiful mess scattered underfoot.
My work is slow and seasonal. I let the flowers speak. A twist in the vine, a stillness in the petals—these details shape the pieces I create. Every wreath, bouquet, or bundle carries a story of place, of care, and of time well spent.
This is more than creating with flowers. It is a way of being present, of honouring the everyday magic around us, and of sharing a little piece of that with you.
I hope you can join me on this little flower journey!
My Foraged Life isn’t just a business—it’s our way of life and a beautiful invitation to appreciate and cherish the small, meaningful moments we encounter every day. I hope that through my flowers, you’ll find a connection to nature’s magic, just as I have. Whether you’re looking for something special for your home, a gift, or simply to share in the love of all things wild and wonderful, you’re always welcome here.
With Love ~ Caitlin
THE JOURNEY
My passion project, My Foraged Life, officially took root in 2022, growing from a deep love of collecting, photographing, and foraging in nature. Drawn to the outdoors, I began experimenting with drying my natural treasures — a simple process that unlocked a world of creative possibilities.
At first, I was captivated by the beauty of wildflowers, grasses, and even what others might call weeds. As time passed, my journey blossomed into growing my own flowers, turning from forager to gardener and nurturing a personal flower haven.
Through self-study, countless books, and connecting with kindred spirits who share my love of flowers, I’ve honed my floral artistry and wreath-making skills. These experiences have helped me develop pieces that carry my unique vision and personal touch.
Today, most of my foraging happens right at home, among the garden, flower patch, and wild corners of our property. Still, I treasure the thrill of gathering natural treasures from my favourite wild spots — bracken fern, textural grasses, and other elements that continue to inspire my work.
"Nature is my inspiration—its wildflowers, changing seasons, and vibrant hues fuel my imagination, creating pieces that feel both timeless and fleeting."
